Nissan will take legal action in response to the upholders of British disaffiliation with the European Union who have used the company's logo in the leaflets to support Brexit, reports Reuters, citing a statement by the automaker.

As explained by the agency, Nissan logo appeared on a «Vote Leave» flyer alongside the logos of the four other major companies, including Unilever and the Vauxhall stating the following message: «Major employers …have all said they'll stay in the UK whatever the result of the referendum».

The Nissan stated they would prefer Britain to remain within the EU. Now, the automaker plans to apply to Britain's High Court to ban the use of its name and logo on «Vote Leave» flyers, and to «prevent them making any further false statements and misrepresentations concerning Nissan».

A referendum on the country's membership in the European Union (Brexit) will be held on 23 June. Polls conducted a little more than ten days before the vote suggest that the proponents of Britain leaving the EU are currently leading.
